Swimming at Broken Bow Lake

Broken Bow Lake is one of Oklahoma’s most beautiful lakes.  It’s over 22 miles long and is back dropped by mountains.  The lake is surrounded by rock banks and the water is crystal clear where you can open your eyes underwater and actually see.  Scuba diving is a popular sport here.  There are two access road that lead to the lake through Hochatown State Park.  Stephens Gap area and the Carson Creek area where Takitik is located.  Boat access and ramps are located everywhere.  Both roads are marked by the big green signs.   

The Stephens Gap Area boasts the marina where you can rent house boats, ski boats, and part barges. There is also a swim beach in this area in the Coyote Drive area. Coyote Drive is located on the left, (north) of the main Stephens Gap Road.      

Carson Creek Area
Takitik cabin is located here.  Just travel down the road and pick the spot you like the most. There aren’t marked areas along this route.  This area is the less crowed of the two.
